our 3-fold mission

adrian's grandmother meher, our inspiration

"In her own life, she felt women in Pakistan really were backward and suppressed "

my grandmother's vision

The Save the Day Society is the representation of a vision that began in the mid-1900s. Adrian's grandmother, Meherunnisa Meher Begum (who goes by "Meher") was a poet and women's rights activist in the 1960s, and became well-known for her aggressive stance on equality for all.

In today's world, we believe that the creative, intuitive power of women and their leadership are our most readily available, but under-utilized resources! As more women (and young women) are empowered and appreciated, the more balanced, empowered, and unified our families, communities, and schools can become.

Her name represents our combined spirits in this effort: Meher = Me & Her. Read more about the article below.

Sami has the unusual distinction of going viral in 4 very unrelated topics on Tik Tok: an upside-down cat trend, prize-winning cookies, her sister Lexi's "coming out" story, and the crazy story about the 2200+ page book her mentally ill grandfather wrote for the religion he created. @mildwestsami

We always told our children that we loved them unconditionally. Lexi's viral "coming out" video (Tik Tok:@mildwestsami) was the Universe asking us "Are you sure?".  Yep, we're sure.

about the meher article

Since nobody in Adrian's family or extended family knows about this project, after we're live, they'll surely send massive amounts of information about her life.  So stay tuned...

The article will be available for viewing and download soon, but here are some highlights:

- 1972: Awarded the Gold Medal by the Shah of Iran.

- A member of the exclusive Writers Guild of Pakistan.

- 1964: Given the title "Most Famous Poetess in India".

- Met with Indira Ghandi.

- Author of 7 novels, 112 articles, and 255 poems.

- Kept her maiden name in Pakistan in the 1940's, even on her passport. Hers was an arranged marriage. Huge power move, I love it!

- Felt that "something was wrong with the system". How right she was.

- Wanted to be an example of what women could do.

- Made sure all 10 of her children were educated.

- 3 of her books were used in schools.

- Felt that "Many were not ready for her ideas". We're READY NOW.

Making The Most Of IT

Madge's Story...

Madge suffers from Lance Adams Syndrome which is a movement disorder as a result from lack of oxygen in the brain when she was overdosed at a hospital after surgery with pain meds. When her body touches anything it will shake and spasm making regular tasks impossible or dangerous.

Previously, Madge was very active in her garden, went to the gym regularly, and actively involved in many church and community events. This accident has greatly impacted her mobility and her physical safety. She requires special care and is dependent on her wheelchair to get around.

The Save the Day Society donated $300 for her to get brand new loveseat recliner allowing her and her husband, Doug, to better get up off of the couch, and to comfortably recline. Thanks to Astegos Community Warehouse for the special price reduction to make it possible!

One our values is to help people help themselves as much as possible. Click the button "Support Madge" to see the website we created to help Madge support herself!

How you can help

Madge loves to crochet and has been for for the last 70 years! We have created a website where Madge can now sell her creations to help support their bills and living. Please take a look and consider purchasing her beautiful hand crocheted products!
